A facelift model of Maruti Ciaz can be expected from the carmaker this year. This is probably a requirement that has been felt since the car in the mid size sedan segment has not been faring too well in terms of sales numbers. The car is expected to come with cosmetic upgrades on the inside as well as outside and would have new powertrains as well.
The carmaker, being the leading car manufacturer in the country, has been active in the last two years when it has launched a plethora of new models. This year there might not be new models expected from this carmaker but there would be facelifts introduced every now and then to keep up the interest of the consumers in the different segments.
The Indo Japanese carmaker would be launching the facelift model of Ciaz in the month of August. Bookings of the new sedan would be launched by July 2018. Test mules have been spotted doing the rounds in different roads of the country as the carmaker is determined to bring in the car with added features to make it more appealing to the sedan customers. The main significant launch that the carmaker had in the beginning of the year was Swift in its new gen model. The car has been a huge success in terms of record bookings that have been received in a month’s period. The carmaker would not be sitting back and there would be several facelifts to be expected as the year progresses.

The facelift model of Ciaz would come with an updated grille design. There would be new alloy wheels, a revamped bumper, both for the front and the rear. The India spec model has reflections of Alivio Pro which is the Chinese model. The cabin interiors of the car would feature all black themes with a new touch screen unit, a new digital instrument cluster and new fabric based upholstery. The mechanics of the car would include a 1.5 liter diesel unit which would replace the earlier Fiat diesel engine powertrain. The current 1.5 liter petrol variant would be replaced by a 1.5 liter petrol unit. The specifications and exact details of the engine models are not known as yet. There would be an automatic transmission system along with a six speed and five speed manual transmission modes. The facelift model would contend with the likes of Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna, Honda City and the upcoming Toyota Yaris.
