There is no dearth of choices when it comes to entry level hatchbacks on the market. Maruti has new age models as well as existing cars that have stood the test of time. If you wish to try something new the Maruti Suzuki Ignis is a compact crossover model to consider.

Albeit it comes with a quirky design but that is what makes it modern and contemporary. Just as the other new age cars of the company, you will find an extensive list of features with this car. It is the entry level offering of the premier Nexa brand of Maruti. The price range of Maruti Suzuki Ignis varies from Rs 6.5 to Rs 8 lakhs. This new model comes with manual and automatic transmission system. The LED headlamps with projector lights and the unique U shape designed DRLs make them unique. These features also make the car a premium offering.

The Hyundai Grand i10 is the next affordable car with new features to consider. The Grand i10 in the second gen model was having a facelift version launched last year. It comes with a seven inch infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity functions. The Asta and Sports variants are popular with the latter flaunting automatic transmission system as well. Price range of the variants of Hyundai Grand i10 varies from Rs 4.69 to Rs 7.46 lakhs.

Hyundai also has launched the facelift model of the second gen Elite i20. The car comes with automatic transmission and is priced between Rs 5.36 to Rs 8.5 lakhs. The top variant comes with premier features like a cooled glove box, cornering lamps, and side and curtain airbags among others.

Hyundai Grand i10 also comes in comparison with Maruti Suzuki Celerio. The latter comes at Rs 4.57 lakhs while Grand i10 is priced at an average of Rs 5 lakhs. The Hyundai car comes with a 1.2 liter petrol engine while the Celerio has a 998 cc engine. Both cars have comparable features.

Hyundai hatchback options are less compared to Maruti Suzuki which offers more cars in the market at competitive pricing, more powertrain options which are some of the main reasons that we see Maruti as the leading player in the Indian market and in this segment in particular. Hyundai is the second player here, but has a wide differential from the leader in terms of sales figures.
