The facelift version of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is expected to be launched this year. What one can expect to find in this premier sedan are cosmetic updates as well as new powertrain options.
Maruti Suzuki is getting ready to launch the new version of Ciaz this year. This sedan is set to come with facelift features by the month of August. It will help get attention to this sedan, which has been struggling in terms of sales figures as compared to other cars of the car maker. Test mules of Ciaz in its facelift version have been spotted on the roads. There are already new gen Maruti Suzuki Swift cars on the road after its launch in February.
If you are wondering what cosmetic updates one can expect from the facelift version, there are quite a few. For instance, the front of the car would feature an updated face with a new grille design, new alloy wheels and a bumper that has been revamped. Hence, there are changes in the front as well as the back of the car. There are certain commonalities between the Chinese model, known as Alivio Pro 2018 and the upcoming facelift Indian version. The car will have all black cabin interiors, new upholstery in fabric and a new instrument cluster. The touch screen unit with heads up display also comes with updated functions.
Besides changes in the cosmetic front, the mechanical changes in the car would include choices in diesel and petrol variants. The diesel unit would be a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder unit which is a new model replacing the older Fiat sourced diesel engine. The petrol engine unit of 1.5 liters would replace the 1.4 liter petrol variant. The transmission systems would comprise of a five speed as well as a six speed manual and an automatic gearbox option. The price of the car would be in the price bracket of Rs 8 to Rs 13 lakhs. The facelift version will contend with existing cars in the segment such as Hyundai Verna as well as would be another choice against the upcoming Toyota Yaris that is scheduled for launch soon.

The sedan segment remains a section where carmakers need to put in an effort to woo customers and need to balance costs and features on offer to make them attractive choices as other segments such as SUVs catch on more attention.
