Review of Porsche Cayenne 2018

This is the third generation model of the Porsche Cayenne and the gradual evolution over two decades shows the level of perfection that has been heightened in this car. The current gen model was designed based on the MLB platform of the VW Group. The development of the car is handled mainly by Audi.

If the sales figures are seen of this car, it is one of the best selling models in the luxury SUV segment. The new gen model is available in three trim variants, the Cayenne Turbo, Cayenne S and Cayenne base model. Evolution is the natural order of things and if we look at the new gen model and its features, Porsche has definitely taken a well perfected model and improved upon it even.




The car comes based on the MLB platform which makes it design underpinnings similar to Bentley Bentayga and Audi Q7. The car comes at an on road price of Rs 1.25 crores. This new gen model would be made available in this country since June 2018.

The new model of Cayenne comes in a wider and longer form. The vehicle architecture is based on the MLB platform of VW group and development is handled primarily by Audi. The car has unique features such as a rear wheel steering system that is offered as an option. The car comes as a five seater SUV. The boot has about 100 liters more available space. The cabin interiors are swanky with premier features that include a 12.3 inches HD infotainment unit with haptic switches, an instrument panel along with an analogue tachometer that has two HD display screens of seven inches flanking it on either side. You would be provided with information such as tyre pressure; fuel economy, navigation and G force as well as have Apple CarPlay option on the infotainment unit.

Indeed, as expected, the Cayenne cabin has cool gizmos that one would expect and customers would not be disappointed. The car stands out with a new braking system known as the Porsche Surface Coated Brakes or PSCB. The Cayenne is fitted with a 3 liter V6 engine and has four driving modes to choose from, Sport, Sport+, Normal and Individual. The car comes with an all wheel driving system that is standard and there are lockable differentials that allow one to preset the kind of terrain that one would be driving the car at.
