This is a production milestone crossed, but this compact SUV that was brought in with fanfare by FCA to India. The car has been on a fast growth track since its launch in the country and in a time span of seven months the car has crossed the milestone production of 25000 units at the Ranjangaon facility. Among such production figures only 5000 have been exported.
The game changer for Fiat Group in the country has been Jeep Compass. With the introduction of the model the manufacturer has been having its order books full. Now the car is scaling new heights, having achieved such a record production milestone. The competitive price tag of the SUV along with premier features also led to it being awarded titles like SUV of the Year and Car of the Year by NDTV. Jeep Compass comes at a price tag of Rs 18 lakhs on average across the different trim models.
FCA adopted clever strategies to bring this iconic brand to India and make it a feasible product as well. With its production facility located near Pune in Ranjangaon, the company opted to have the car manufactured by 65 percent localization methods. The facility is not only producing Jeep Compass for India but also the right hand drive models for other countries like UK, Japan, and Australia whose exports happen from here. The car model for India comes with petrol and diesel engines as well as offers an AT version in petrol. There are top notch features available with the car and the variation in total are ten. The premier features of the car make it worth the prices it comes from along with off roading capabilities. The model competes with cars like Mahindra XUV500, Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Tucson. The powertrains of the car are powerful too, as compared to compact SUVs in this segment. The diesel variant comes with a 2 liter Multijet turbo diesel engine as well as a 1.4 liter petrol engine. The automatic transmission is of the dual clutch kind and offers seven speed options. There are 4×2 as well as 4×4 drive capabilities.

There is a diesel automatic that has been promised for launch soon. It would probably come paired with a nine speed transmission system. The Trailhawk variant is also in line for lunch, which will keep up the interest as well as sales numbers.
